For my 25th birthday I was looking for a new and exciting destination to travel to. I was looking for a place where I could celebrate the style with my mother, so I chose to visit with the coin flipped over Norway. A few weeks later we were cruising on a Norwegian fjord cruise!

Living in Australia wasn’t a place I could choose far away, so I wanted to be able to arrive when I arrived, relax, plan, and leave the effort to travel to someone else. Therefore, it was decided: we challenged Norwegian fjords on an 8-night cruise, explored and adventured throughout the day, relaxed and drunk at night. Talk about hitting balance!

Cruising Norwegian fjords with celebrities

I took my first cruise over a year ago and believe in me when I said I was the most shocked of all of us that I had such a great time. Many moon cruising has been a form of luxury travel booked only for the wealthiest guests, but as we know today, cruising invites you to travel the world with style, refinement and a great range of benefits.

For those who have never cruised before, booking a cruise will pay a comprehensive price covering onboard accommodation, all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner), entertainment (nighttime theatre shows and live music), and round-trip to and from each port. All of this is included in one package price, so I was surprised to learn that cruising would be a reasonably affordable way to travel.

Itinerary: 8 nights in a Norwegian fjord

The cruise to Norway started in South Hampton, England, and visited London and gave me an excuse to show my mother to one of my favourite cities (I have anything!). From London, we boarded the 1.5 hour train to South Hampton, boarded the boat and we went!

We spent the first and last nights of our cruise at the sea, travelling back and forth between Norway. This gave me a great opportunity to kick the jet lag and adopt a new timezone as quickly as possible, ready to fall off and run to the ground when I arrived in Norway!

The first port of the cruise was Bergen, It is Norway’s second largest city and is best known as the gateway to the fjords.

Our second calling port was a small village in rafta small and charming village and first insight into life within the fjord.

The next day we arrived Geirangeranother small village, but full of breathtaking views and hiking to capture this narrow fjord.

We left the fjord and returned to the coast and we stopped at Ålesundincredible city views and charming art nouveau architecture.

And for the final stop on the cruise we arrived at StabangerIt has the third largest city in Norway, and its complex alleys and small streets that wander around.

Life on board

Anyone who knows there are two trips when riding a cruise knows that on land and one is on board. While you spend your days exploring on foot, you spend the mornings and evenings in the ocean, unevenly in the ocean.

For me, the biggest part of cruising is the ease of travel. Check in and check in and out during your vacation. Travel overnight while you sleep (more time to explore on arrival). bliss!

The onboard offering was almost always too appealing to resist. A delicious buffet of all the breakfast items you can imagine, a continuous all-day buffet, and a three-course meal each night booking dinner. Every night, the menu changes and we taste flavors from all over the world, chatting with fellow cruisers and staff waiting from every corner of the world.

The entertainment on board was surprisingly my favorite highlight, and was especially worth mentioning in terms of talent alone. Every night he was responsible for the evening performances by either a special fly-in act or a cast ensemble that performed live theaters. It was the latter that I found most enjoyable to have so many of the cast members being quality Broadway performers (and to those who have been reading my blog for a while, you can see that I’ve seen a lot of shows!).

During our days at the sea, I treated my mother and I in the manicure spa all day. We sat there laughing and talking about how we could get used to being used to luxury. One night train trip, googling where to eat vegetarian food in a new city, and living from suitcases, it was a very luxurious trip to travel with a celebrity cruise and spending a birthday trip Actually, on a holiday!
