Lake Bled is one of Slovenia’s most popular destinations. The iconic Blue Lake features an impressive castle on a small island overlooking the lake, and many great activities in the summer. These are things to do in the lake to help you plan your visit.
Hike this little Oznica
If you have a view of the lake from above, there’s no better way to see the lake bleeding Mara Sediment. The hike takes about an hour’s return, plus it takes a little time to stay on top and enjoy the scenery. The hike is easy, but very steep, so plan your visit at the beginning or end of the day to beat the summer sun!
Try Slovenian cuisine at Vila Bled
When you visit the Bleeding Lake, you are in the Gorengiskan portion of Slovenia, and there are plenty of great local dishes to try the flavors of this area. dumplings are prominent in the menu, and the food is often heartfelt; Huge. Vila Bled has a beautiful restaurant with the best views of Bread Island, making this a great place to enjoy traditional cuisine while enjoying the best views of town. Don’t forget to try the famous bread cake for dessert, a pastry cake filled with delicious custard centres. This cake is so good that we will probably talk about it for the next few months.
Get on a Pretona boat and ride a bleeding island
It’s more difficult than seeing boats around the lake (more on later). If you’re leaning more Row At your destination, take a Pretona boat and take your time on the bleeding island. These boats are located on the island side of the lake and run constantly between the islands.
Row yourself to the bleeding island
Do you feel like you’re winning streaks coming from your own? Another great way to reach the island is to row yourself into one of the rental boats available in the same area. I was staying in the Villa Bleeding and enjoyed a free hour rental, but I probably only lasted half the time, regardless of the circular path I accidentally took (it’s much more difficult than it looks!), and it was a really fun way to experience the lake and enjoy the summer sun.
Visit Vintgar Valley
Just a 10-15 minute drive from Lake Bled, Vint Gargage is one of the most beautiful places in Slovenia. Another way to get there is by bike or walking given the proximity to the lake. The canyon is from 7am to 8pm in the summer, with less time during colder months. During the summer, this place is lively with tourist traffic, so it is highly recommended to arrive early.

Visit Lakebread Castle
Slovenia has many wonderful castles to explore, and the denied castles are one of the highlights. Set idyllically on one of the highest points surrounding the island, Bled Castle is a living museum. Sources say it is Slovenia’s oldest castle and is kept in excellent condition thanks to the restoration process. Another bonus: the view of the lake bleeding from the castle is iconic!
Try the famous bleeding cake
If you haven’t heard it yet, consider it a warning to yourself. Bread cakes are a hot luxury of deliciousness that cannot be ignored and should not be ignored. The cake has a pastry base and top, with a delicious custard center and creamy layers. It’s incredibly rich, sweet and supple. You can try cakes in almost every restaurant or cafe around the lake, but I highly recommend visiting Café Belvedere for slices (the view is to die).
Ring the bell on Bread Island
However, when it comes to the island, be sure to climb almost 100 steps to the tower and ring the bell at the top of the church. The Bell can be heard all day from the enthusiast Berlinger around the lake, making it a great addition to the lakeside environment.
Spend a night at the lake
Even if you are staying here, we cannot recommend adequate check-in for Vila Bled, whether you only stay for one night or not. The villa is a very essential part of the lake, with many rooms offering direct views of the island that has died. You can wake up every morning, head down the stairs and wander around at the lake moments, or enjoy the private beach in front of the hotel and free boat rentals.
Take a day trip to Trigraf National Park
Triglav National Park is just a short drive from the lake’s bleeding lake and is highly recommended to visit if you are bleeding for more than 2 days. The park has a great day hike. Or, if you prefer a more relaxed visit, Lake Bohingi is a great place to relax away from the lake crowds.
